I thought it was strange that with all the gas price increases in the states that we hadn't seen any increase here. Now I know why. Hovensa, which is the oil refinery on St. Croix, and the only provider of petroleum to the US Virgin Islands, reviews their price once a month and then sets it accordingly. This month the gas stations will see a 24 cent increase in the price of gas. We won't see the increase until the stations make their next purchase and who knows how much they will kick it up. St. Thomas prices have been holding at 4.29 to 4.41, so at minimum it will go up to at least 4.55. We'll keep you posted.
Here's the article in the St. Thomas Source.
