We forgot today is Friday lol. Happens when you're on vacation. :-)
We've had a great time at Leverick Bay. We're taking off sometime today and heading back towards STT. maybe a stop along the way. I'm so glad we took the time off and got to enjoy the Virgin Islands like we use to before we moved here :-)
We took lots of pics and GoPro video so we'll put a full post together once we're back home with more Internet connection.
The good the bad and the details. We are moving to St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. We will try to keep a rambling record for anyone that ever dreamed of giving it all up and moving to the Islands to learn from or just laugh at.

Leverick Bay
We made it to Leverick Bay in Virgin Gorda and met up with some friends. We spent the day running up Northsound, doing some snorkeling and lunch at Fat Virgin. Great day. Have lots of pics, but Internet is spotty so I'll have to wait until we get back to stt to post. What a great staycation. ;-)

Gettin off the rock
The staycation starts today! WooHoo! Heading to Virgin Gorda Leverick Bay Resort. The weather is prefect, the water is like glass, the beer is cold, and the St. Thomian Griswalds take boats vs station wagons for "road trips"...no wood grain here :-)
More posts to follow! Check out the web cam on Leverick Bay. You may catch a glimpse :-)

The Weather Station is Back Up
So after a little delay, the last storm and WAPA teamed up to kill the weather station server, we have the newly installed Davis WeatherLink working so you can see real time data from the weather station again on Weather Underground. We updated the live link below and here is the direct link. Weather Station at Mahogany Run
It is also now available at directly at The Davis Weatherlink Sight as well.

Friday Beach Pic
Well here it is Friday and we haven't done a post since last Friday. Not a whole lot going on. Lots of rain and overcast, fixed the boat after we got the part that was on national back order, made it to water island before it needed fixed again lol, spending lots of time at a new place that opened in Frenchtown called the Looney Bien....love it!, watching the weather to make sure TS Ophelia stays north of us, dealing with a $574 WAPA bill, setting up a new weather station at the condo since WAPA took out the last one, new tires on the car, stress at work, but other than that, not much going on lol
Starting this afternoon Jay and I will be on our "stay-cation". With the different expenses we've had and the trip I made back home in May, we decided not to make another trip this year. Instead we're just going to hang around here and run around on the boat, which we haven't done in awhile. So hopefully we'll have some good pics to post!
Have a great weekend!

Friday Beach I mean boat picture
So after almost a month and a half of waiting on parts the boat is fixed. The weekend is upon us and the forecast looks pretty good. What ever should we do.

Bye bye Maria
Finally the rain has stopped and we're seeing the sun again! Bands from Maria wouldn't go away. That was one large storm but it didn't really live up to the forecasts thank goodness.
We finally got our boat part. Apparently it was delivered last Wednesday but the mail service forgot to put a slip in our box. I had been by several times looking for it but they said it wasn't in. So Jay got the tracking number from the seller and it said delivered 9/7/11. When he called the mail service they found it and just said "oops sorry". It would have been nice to have the part before the storm so that SeaTow didn't have to tow us off the dock to the mooring. Oh well. At least it's on now and running and checked out by a mechanic so if all goes well, we'll be boating this weekend! WooHoo!! :-)

TS Maria downgraded
TS Maria has been downgraded to a tropical depression so all storm warnings in the VI have been cancelled. Yea! We're still supposed to get some major rain tonight so flood warnings are still in effect. We've had on and off showers all afternoon and winds are ranging from 10 to 20 mph. The winds will probably still kick up a bit later tonight but shouldn't be more than 30mph so that's not too bad. This could all change later so we're not out of the woods yet but it's definitely a good news :-)

Friday Pic
It's Friday! Everyone is pretty much in storm prep mode awaiting for Tropical Storm Maria to arrive sometime tomorrow evening. Hopefully it won't be too bad since it's barely holding together. It's heading right towards us at the moment but it keeps changing paths with each update so we'll know more by tomorrow morning. Wish us luck.
But in the meantime it's Friday happy hour so we're heading to our new favorite place in Frenchtown that just opened up. Looney Bien. Tex Mex, margaritas and cold beer. Can't beat that! Happy hour is 3-7pm, $2 tacos, $2 domestic beer, $3 imported, $1 off all other drinks. Its in the old Margarita Phils location, so stop by if you're in the area.

Tonight is the soft opening of a new restaurant in Frenchtown, The Looney Bien. I think I spelled it right. It's in the old Margarita Phils location and they'll be serving tex Mex with a local flair. I love Mexican food so I hope it works out. Tonight is also the last night for Hook, Line & Sinker before taking their "off season" break so we'll be stopping there also. Busy night!
Last night we went to the Reichhold Center 2012 season announcement party sponsored by the chamber of commerce. It's a pretty good line up this year so I plan to get some tickets! Commodores, India Arie, plus a bunch more. I'll give the full list later today. The Reichhold Center is such a pretty venue, if you're on STT when they're having a show, you really need to check it out.
Well, have a great weekend!!
Btw- TS Katia is predicted to go way north of us so we shouldn't feel any major effects from her. Maybe some high surf and a rain shower so no worries.
